Celebrating 1st Profession of Br Denis OFM

Vocations Ireland offer prayerful congratulations to Br Denis on the occasion of his 1st Profession

FRANCISCAN  1^st  PROFESSION

Br Denis Aherne, OFM places his hands into the hands of the Provincial Minister of the Irish Franciscans, Friar Hugh McKenna OFM as he makes his 1^st Profession of Vows.   The ceremony took place on Sunday 2^nd August 2015.   Denis is a member of the Irish Franciscan Province and having completed his postulancy (1^st Year of formation in Franciscans), in the Franciscan Friary, Killarney, Co Kerry he went to the Franciscan Interprovincial Novitiate Friary, in Burlington, WI, USA to do his novitiate.   After three weeks holiday with his family in Listowel, Co Kerry, Denis will do a placement in the Franciscan Friary, Ennis, Co Clare before going to Canterbury to do a year of Franciscan Studies at the Franciscan Study Centre there.   On completion of that year he will move to the Franciscan Friary, Athlone, Co Westmeath to continue his training in the ‘Franciscan Way’.   If you are interested in knowing more about the Franciscans please contact me at:   brpatofm@hotmail.com
