“Gone Shopping” Monastic Day

“Gone Shopping” Monastic Day

It’s not always possible to disappear for a full weekend to explore contemplative life in a monastery without having to face unwanted questions from family and friends!

…but if you just disappear for a Saturday…well you might just be gone shopping! Our monastic day aims to facilitate those who feel an attraction to our contemplative way of life but for whom it might also be difficult to take a full weekend off.

Coming to Nuns’ Island for a day to hear about what our way of life entails, to share in some of our daily prayer and to meet others, who are also searching, will help to clarify for you whatever is stirring in your heart.

The day is intended for women between the ages of 21 and 40 who feel that God may be calling them to religious life.

To help the sister looking after hospitality, it would be much appreciated if you could let us know if you are coming by contacting us at vocations@poorclares.ie

Vocations Ireland is delighted to announce the launch of the exploreAway programme for 2014 – 2015.

exploreAway is a programme which provides the opportunity for young, single, men and women between the ages of 21-40 who are interested in exploring religious life and the priesthood in a reflective and prayerful environment.

exploreAway aims to provide input, support and accompaniment to participants who are discerning their call, be it to priesthood or to religious life. Participants are invited to embark on this journey of exploration in the company of others who are also searching.

The programme involves five residential weekends based in Dublin. The weekends will provide input on vocation call, discernment, prayer and religious life – its core values and the various ways it is lived.

Join us on Sunday 14th September 2014 from 2-6pm in St. Teresa’s Church, Clarendon Street, Dublin 2 or on Sunday 12th October 2014 from 2-6pm in Clonard Monastery, Belfast, BT13 2RLto find out more about exploreAway.
